Definition: An amendment to the Truth in Lending Act (TILA) which addresses various deceptive and unfair practices found within the field of home equity lending. Primarily, it establishes specific requirements for certain loans with high rates and/or high fees in an effort to protect the consumer from unscrupulous or disreputable lending entities.
